Re: I-Sabre V3 without power management
And of course there is a follow-up question... If I don't use the power management and/or display function, the DAC I have now seems to be a bit overkill. But I can use this in my soon to build second setup, so what would be (sound quality-wise) be the best choice for a rasp-pi DAC without these fun...

I-Sabre V3 without power management
I'm about to put my Pi with DAC in a cabinet where I cannot easily reach it. So it needs to be 'always on', and automatically boot after a power failure. Am I right in reading the info on the Dac's page so that if I remove the uC and put a wire-bridge between the two points where a switch is drawn, ...

Re: Moode Audio support?
I edited my post, thanks for the corrections. I left the gcc install in. It won't hurt to make sure you have the latest version.
Good luck with the display part, let us know if you get it working.
Cheers,
A

Re: Moode Audio support?
As promised here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the power button on the i-Sabre V3 work with Moode. If you mess up anything it is not my responsibility. Read all the appropriate stuff about Linux before you begin. All this is done in a SSH session to your Pi. In Terminal (Mac) or PuTTY (P...

Re: Moode Audio support?
What is in your "etc/rc.local" ? There should be something there to start up Moode. Still at work so I cannot check what's in mine, but you can maybe compare between your own system and my image?

Re: Moode Audio support?
Yes it is. I was confused with the system that automounts the hard-drive. Never try to answer a post when your head is busy with completely other things (like work...)

Re: Moode Audio support?
That is weird indeed. As far as I know (I'm at my office now, no access to my code) MPD has nothing to do with any of the changes. I'll check later.

Re: Ethernet hum on Pi + i-Sabre V3
I put an extra switch between the cable and the DAC so I could use a cheap cable with plastic plugs to connect. Hum is gone. So it appears the hum is caused by the grounded cable. I'll cut the connector and replace it wit a non-shielded one. Or keep the switch in between

Re: Moode Audio support?
My brother has a touch-screen working on his Moode player. I don't think a two-line display is going to be a huge problem. But like I said, I don't have a second DAC to play with, and the one I do have is needed for my music. No more experimenting with that one ;-). Maybe if Audiophonics would provi...

I know, it is the image of my working setup. Apart from you finding out about my music tastes, I don't think there is any privacy sensitive information there. But I removed it from WeTransfer, so please don't share to anyone. If anyone else is interested I'll try to write a tutorial from start to fi...

Re: Moode Audio support?
Can't say what goes wrong here. I had to re-install Moode a couple of times whilst trying to make this work. I ended up doing a step from the Volumio tutorial and when everything still worked after that I made an image of the system before continuing on the next step. That way I could tell where i w...

Ethernet hum on Pi + i-Sabre V3
Tonight I finally got round to laying a new ethernet cabe from my switch to my audio set. Wifi takes a lot of power on the Pi and I heard of cases where it interferes with the sound. However, when plugging in the ethernet cable I get an audible hum. Could this be a ground loop of sorts? I don't have...

Re: Moode Audio support?
After thoroughly investigating the whole chain from DAC to speakers I now know the print on the pcb is wrong. However, on my DAC the red ring is already switched with the black one so I think the people at Audiophonics knew about this and swapped rings before sending mine off. So in my case the colo...

Re: Moode Audio support?
Just had a look at the picture on http://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/dac-diy/a ... 10657.html. There the lower output is red, the upper black. On mine they are switched. So it may be a production error.

Re: Moode Audio support?
Just tested. The red output is left, the black is right. So it appears your findings are correct. Weird. Of course, simply switching the interconnects will resolve the problem, but still... Re: Moode Audio support?
I have not followed my leads to see if left is connected to left and such. Sounds silly, but my (current) amp is build in out of sight, so I can only assume I connected the right interlink in the right input years ago. I'll check later tonight, when the rest of the family is off to bed. When I play ...

Re: Moode Audio support?
I'm on version 2.6 2016-06-07
It works and so far I have not seen anything I miss in the newer version (I don't listen to radio stations).
What version do you have the problems with?

Re: Moode Audio support?
I would like to experiment with the display, but I don't have a second DAC and the first one is build in now. And buying a second DAC (and display) just to see if I can get it working with Moode is a bit too much

Re: Moode Audio support?
So far so good. Used the button several times to turn the Pi off and on again, works like a charm. Power down and reboot from the Moode web-interface also works well. Just heard a new version of Moode is out. I'll try the updater to see if it breaks the functionality (it probably will). Keep you pos...
