English: I have built a linear powersupply for my Audiophonics dac. It can only deliver 1 ampere (A). The Raspberry pie want to have 2,2 ampere.

Can i use the linear supply to drive the Audiophonics dac and at the same time use the switched supply that came with the raspberry pie to drive the raspberry pie? :?

Hi,

Are you talking about a U-Sabre or I-Sabre ?

if you're talking about an I2S DAC, there's no need to power up the Pi separatly.

The PI will be powered trough GPIO pins.

If you have a PI 2 or 3 1A will not be enough.

Powering the pi itself with a standard SMPS wall adapter will pollute the clean DAC.

Hello David!
And thanks for your answer. This is My dac. http://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/dac-diy/a ... tml#idTab4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is the pie. https://thepihut.com/products/raspberry-pi-3-model-b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Are there any modifications (bend some pins) that i can do to separate the pie and the dac from eachother, so that i can power them separately?

regards Johan
